Hi All,
Our LMS administrators are currently looking at upgrading to a new system next year and i was wondering if anyone in our community has any experience intergrating them with ESS.
They are currently looking at Moodle, Bb9 and Desire2Learn. Im interested in Desire2Learn. Is anyone using this product? Has anyone tried to intergrate it into ESS? If so how did it go?
Any info that you can supply would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Mark

Mark,
The ESS has a number of publishing integrations available, including Moodle and Bb. The D2L integration is not complete at this time. We are engaged with the D2L folks, have shared with them our Open Publishing Framework (the API for anyone to create their own custom ESS publisher), and they are looking at required additions to their product to support this integration. I can't speak to their development timelines, but we have mutual customers who are highly interested in the integration and have offered to help test.

Hi All,
How have things progressed in the area of ESS / Desire2Learn integration?
I've just come back from the Desire2Learn Fusion Conference 2011 and they have announced their own lecture capture solution "Desire2Learn Capture".
There are some interesting features including live streaming!
(I still think ESS has the edge at the moment but it will be interesting to see where things are at in 6-12 months.)

Hey Peter,
One thing I personally love about business is competition:) So i recon we will see across the board echo and other companies bring us some more great stuff soon
I agree that ESS has the edge at the moment especially with the new capture appliance coming out vs D2L station on windows (yuk - support hell imo)
Utas is walking down the path of D2L for 2012 and an intergration is included in the contract so it is fully possible.
Also with echo center (believe that is what it is called) in version 4.0 it is even easier.
Cheers
Phill
