Dear all, how are you doing?
I'm in the process to research about options that we have about doing pastor "sermon" captures. It seems that there are two major options here:
1. A solution similar to slideshare.net (but without advertising), which allow you to upload (or import) your PowerPoint file, and then the software will record the "time code" for the slides so that the audio can be synchronized with the slides later. This seems to be a much cheaper solution (aka slidecasting I think), but it will NOT be able to capture the video of the pastor talking.
2. The other alternative is to do something like "Lecture Capture," which allow basically capture everything. However, for medium sized church like ours (around 400 - 500 people), this might be an overkill. Not only the "lecture capture" solutions like Echo360 is much more expensive, but it also provides a lot of features (e.g. document camera, etc.) that we don't really need in a church setting.
Any suggestions, thoughts, or comments? Thanks!

Hi,
Do you just want to capture the audio and match them up to slides or do you want to capture the VGA(video) and audio feeds?
Reason I ask is that there is a big difference between the two approaches.

Thanks so much for your reply! Ideally, we would like to have something that can automatically capture the sermon with the pastor in the video. Something like this:
http://www.rolcc.net...=320&height=240
However, as far as I know, most of these churches did this using a really manual process - a camera man record the sermon using a camcorder, then manually dump it back to the computer for post production, etc. We would like to have something more streamlined (automated or semi-automated), but also AFFORDABLE. We have limited budget about this. If this is NOT possible, then we will look for a more "slidecasting" type of approach, which just capture the audio and match them up to slides.
Thoughts or comments about this? Many thanks and Merry (upcoming) Christmas!!
