It's not a phenomenon reserved for the US, UK and Australia. Lecture capture is taking off in the Middle East, and we're seeing these institutions adopt the technology quickly. It is possible that trailblazers (like our friends in Australia) laid the groundwork for speedy growth around the world. But it is our recent experience that institutions in the Middle East are enthusiastically deploying numerous teaching and learning technologies...not just lecture capture.
Today, Qatar University and Echo360 announced that the university is using lecture capture in eight classrooms to record classroom content. Students enrolled in pharmacy, education, business, engineering and more are benefiting from lecture review. But equally as exciting is the use of the technology for special events on topics like diabetic education. Check out the details at: http://www.echo360.c...s/20100427.asp.
It is an eye-opening experience to see how similar capture success stories are regardless of geography. If you've found lecture capture being used in a way you didn't expect, or perhaps in a place you didn't anticipate, let us know. We'd love to hear about it.
